The Emerald Belles competed this past weekend at ADTS National Competition at the University of North Texas. The team was awarded 1st place for their high kick routine, 1st place in lyrical, and 2nd place in jazz. They received 2nd Overall in their division!
The officers competed in the officer division and won 1st place in all three of their dances. They were awarded 1st Overall in their division. These Belles also received the prestigious “WOW” award for their lyrical dance.
Several Belles entered in the solo division and made it to the finals. Molly McKinnon won 1st place overall in her division. Erica Bradford received 1st Runner-Up and Kathryn Larkin 5th Runner-Up in the same division.
ADTS also hosted a Miss High Kick audition. Several Belles made it through numerous rounds of auditions and on final night they announced the ones that were named as a Miss High Kick Company.
Molly McKinnon was awarded 1st place overall and Ashley Greene received 1st Runner-Up in Miss High Kick. Avery Mackie, Caroline Collins, Evie Smith, Jessica Ahner, and Kelli Nusspickel were all named to the high kick company.
In the X-large ensemble division the following Belles performed a high kick routine and won 1st place: Bethany Sauls, Lilly High, Mackenzie Matwick, Sydney Fullmer, Sarah Beck, Marissa Howell, Kelli Nusspeckil, Emily Kennedy, Lilly Risenhoover, Kenna Thibodeaux, Hannah Hallab, Jessica Ahner, Logan Reid, Carringtyn Honea, and Anna Claire Morris.
In the medium ensemble division Brooke Devoe, Bella Cox, Delaney Malloy, Gabby Potter, Kathryn Larkin, and Kinsy Smith entered a hip-hop routine and were awarded 2nd place.
Ashley Greene and Molly McKinnon entered the duet division and were awarded 1st place.
The team also competed in the International category against teams from Japan and surrounding areas as well. The Belles received 1st place Internationally in high kick, 3rd place in lyrical, and 7th place in jazz.
